Beef Tenderloin steak with Rich Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 beef tenderloin steaks (6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the filet mignons with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat and sear the steaks for about 2 minutes per side.
  • Transfer steaks to a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 10-15 minutes for medium-rare.
