Ingredients
- 1 block halloumi cheese, sliced into 1/4-inch thick pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons chili oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes, or to taste
- 1 small bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, thinly sliced (optional for extra heat)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Halloumi:
Pat the halloumi dry with paper towels. Lightly season with a touch of salt if desired. - Cook the Halloumi:
Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the halloumi slices in a single layer. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until each side is golden brown and crispy.
Remove the halloumi from the pan and place it on a serving plate. - Make the Chili Honey Glaze:
In a bowl, whisk together the honey and chili oil. Adjust the amount of chili oil based on your heat preference.
Add in half of the chili flakes, reserving the rest for garnish. - Assemble the Dish:
Drizzle the chili honey glaze over the cooked halloumi slices.
Sprinkle the remaining chili flakes over the glazed halloumi.
Garnish with the sliced green chili (if using) and freshly chopped parsley. - Serve:
Serve immediately while the halloumi is warm and the glaze is still sticky and delicious.
